What is Āroham? ⌄

Āroham is a free mobile app designed for UGC NET aspirants in Ancient Indian History & Culture (AIHC) and Archaeology. It covers quizzes, study material on pottery, coins, inscriptions, iconography, maps of historical sites, Panchang, and much more.

Is Āroham completely free? ⌄

Yes — all core features are completely free. There is no paywall. Āroham runs on voluntary donations from users who wish to support the project. You can donate any amount you feel comfortable with from within the app.

How do I create an account? ⌄

Open the app and tap "Sign In". You can log in with your Google account for quick access, or register with your email address and a password. A verification email will be sent to confirm your address.

My quiz progress isn't saving. What should I do? ⌄

Make sure you are signed in to your account. Quiz progress syncs to your profile when you are connected to the internet. Check your internet connection and try restarting the app. If the issue persists, contact us via the form above.

How do I change the app theme? ⌄

Go to Settings (accessible from the home screen) and tap "Theme". Āroham offers 12 unique themes inspired by Indian heritage — Thar, Tamra, Kumkum, and more — each with a light and dark variant.

What topics does Āroham cover? ⌄

Āroham covers: Pottery, Coins, Stones & Inscriptions, Iconography (Deities, Ayudha, Ornaments), Philosophical Schools, Human Evolution, Dynasty Timeline, Guild System, Material Culture Maps, Migration Routes, Books & Resources, Previous Year Papers, Panchang, and weekly practice quizzes.

How do I bookmark study material? ⌄

On any study card (pottery, coins, inscriptions, etc.), tap the bookmark icon to save it. Your bookmarks are synced to your account and accessible from the Bookmarks section in the menu.

I found an error in the content. How do I report it? ⌄

We appreciate your diligence! Please use the Contact form on this page and select "Quiz or Content Error" as the topic. Mention the specific question or material where you found the error, and we'll review and fix it promptly.

Is my data safe? ⌄

Yes. Āroham uses Google Firebase for authentication and data storage, which follows industry-standard security practices. We do not share your personal information with third parties. Your email and name are used only to manage your account.

Getting Started

Download Āroham from the Google Play Store and open it. Sign in using your Google account or register with your email. Once logged in, you'll see the home screen with all available study modules.

Explore the bottom navigation to access Quizzes, Study Material, Maps, and more.

Quiz Mode

Āroham offers a weekly quiz that resets every Monday, covering rotating topics from the UGC NET AIHC syllabus. Your scores are tracked on the Leaderboard.

You can also practice topic-wise quizzes at any time from the Quiz section. Review your answers after each attempt to understand mistakes.

Study Material

Study modules cover Pottery traditions, Coins, Stones & Inscriptions, Iconography (Deities, Ayudha, Ornaments), Philosophical Schools, Human Evolution, and the Dynasty Timeline.

Each item has detailed descriptions, cultural context, and period information. Tap the bookmark icon on any card to save it for later review.

Maps

The Map Viewer shows historical sites, sacred locations, trade routes, battle sites, and human migration routes across the Indian subcontinent and beyond.

Switch between map layers using the tabs. Tap any marker for details about the site.

Panchang

The Panchang screen provides the traditional Hindu calendar for any date — including Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana, sunrise/sunset times, and lunar phase. Calculations are based on Ujjain as the reference meridian.

Toggle between Amanta and Purnimanta month systems using the switch at the top.

Bookmarks

Save any study card by tapping the bookmark icon. All bookmarks — pottery, coins, inscriptions, news, and more — are accessible from the Bookmarks section.

Bookmarks sync to your account, so they're available even after reinstalling the app.

Themes & Settings

Āroham comes with 12 heritage-inspired themes. Open Settings from the home screen, tap "Theme Picker", and swipe the theme wheel to explore options. Each theme has a light and dark mode.

You can also adjust language preferences and notification settings from the Settings screen.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using the Āroham application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

These terms apply to all users of the App and this website.

2. Use of the App

Āroham is intended for educational purposes, specifically for preparation of the UGC NET examination in Ancient Indian History & Culture and Archaeology.

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not misuse, copy, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.

3. Intellectual Property

All content within the App — including but not limited to quiz questions, study material, graphics, illustrations, maps, app design, and source code — is the intellectual property of Parth Akshay and is protected under applicable Indian and international copyright laws.

You may not reproduce, redistribute, or republish any content from the App without prior written permission.

4. Account & Privacy

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Āroham collects your name and email address solely to manage your account and personalise your experience.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Your data is stored securely on Google Firebase infrastructure.

5. Donations & Payments

Āroham is free to use. Any monetary contributions made through the App ("Donations") are voluntary and non-refundable. Donations support the ongoing development and maintenance of the App and do not grant any additional rights or premium features unless explicitly stated.

Payments are processed securely via Cashfree Payments. Āroham does not store your payment card details.

6. Disclaimer of Accuracy

While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of study material and quiz content, Āroham makes no guarantee that all information is error-free, complete, or up to date. Users are advised to cross-reference with official UGC NET syllabi and standard academic sources.

Āroham shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on content within the App.

7. Changes to Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
